The phases of hydro dipping, in general, are three:

  1. Surface preparation – preparing the object to be processed, using pre-treatments if necessary;

  2. Hydro dipping – the immersion phase, during which all components are physically immersed in water tanks where a special water-soluble printed film has been previously applied;

  3. Finishing – the final phase, in which a protective clear coating is applied to the treated components.

Within these main phases, additional steps may be required depending on the type of material being hydro dipped. Some raw materials can be directly immersed in water tanks without any initial pre-treatment; others require a more complex pre-treatment, structured in several steps, such as flame treatment, subsequent application of a clear primer, and final coloring.

Emphasizing that there are no limits on the types of materials that can be hydro dipped, it is the material itself that affects the timing and methods of the process.
