Why Choose Hydro Dipping Instead of Sublimation?
Read the reasons to choose Hydro Dipping over Sublimation
Hydro Dipping is a highly versatile technique that allows three-dimensional decoration on any type of material and product.
Here are three reasons to choose Hydro Dipping instead of Sublimation:
-
Material compatibility – Hydro Dipping can decorate any type of material, including heat-sensitive materials like plastics. This is because the process uses very low curing and drying temperatures (below 50°C), unlike Sublimation, which typically operates between 170°C and 200°C.
-
Complex shapes – Thanks to the hydrostatic pressure of water, Hydro Dipping can decorate components and objects with very complex shapes with excellent aesthetic results. Sublimation, on the other hand, has limitations on decorating complex three-dimensional surfaces because it uses printed sheets wrapped dry around the object, often causing defects at curves and folds.
-
Cost efficiency – Hydro Dipping, through industrialization, allows for competitive production costs, especially for large-scale industrial runs. Sublimation, even when industrialized, still involves a significant level of manual work and craftsmanship, making it incomparable to Hydro Dipping in terms of cost and productivity.
